Joint custody takes place when both parents have custody of the child or children.

Joint custody can be in many forms.

For example, joint custody can take place when both parents have fifty percent custody of the child or children and each parent has an equal power to make decisions.

The Best Evidence Rule is a requirement that parties produce the original photograph, recording, or writing, to try to prove the contents thereof. If the original no longer exists, a duplicate may be submitted in its place if is no genuine question of authenticity of the original. Additionally, the original is not required if the it is not closely related to a control problem the case, if it is lost or destroyed, or if substitution is allowed by court order .

Joint custody can also provide that one parent has more decision making power than the other parent.

Many people do not have a clar understanding that joint custody can take many grandual forms as there are diffeent levels of joint custody.
